About The 321 Brief
The 321 Brief is a hyperlocal weekly newsletter for Catawba, Lincoln, and Gaston Counties, North Carolina. Every Wednesday morning, it curates what actually matters close to home: planning commission agendas, county event calendars, local business openings, and job boards.
It is written for locals, by a local. Joshua Godwin moved to the area in 2007.
What you get each week
- At the dais — planning decisions, board votes, and rezonings before they are old news
- Get out this week — markets, festivals, and community events worth putting on the calendar
- New in town — openings, filings, and hiring around Catawba, Lincoln, and Gaston
What you will not get
No national noise. No algorithm deciding what you see. Just what is happening close to home, from someone who lives here.
About the author
Joshua Godwin moved to the Catawba Valley in 2007 and never left. He writes The 321 Brief for the same reason he reads the planning agendas: what happens at the dais, on Main Street, and at the farmers market shapes daily life here more than anything on cable news. The Brief is his Wednesday-morning notebook, shared.
